Qualifications
Our program gives you the opportunity to lease a late-model truck (typically a Freightliner Cascadia) with no money down and no credit check. You’ll benefit from fuel, tire and maintenance discounts, a 500,000-mile powertrain warranty, fuel surcharges on loaded miles, and weekly settlements.
You’ll choose between lease term options: A shorter “Initial Lease Term” (2-4 years) ending in a balloon payment you pay to own the truck. Or an extended lease term where, at the end, you pay a smaller “final” payment (for example $5,000) to take ownership. Either way, our “walk-away” lease feature gives you flexibility if your business doesn’t go as planned.
To become a U.S. Xpress lease driver, you must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Class A CDL, and possess 6 months of verifiable driving experience. Your safety record must show no more than two moving violations or one preventable on-road accident within the last two years, and you must have zero major preventable accidents in the past five years. Additionally, you must pass a DOT physical and drug test and have no DUI/DWI convictions within the last five years (or ten years if the offense occurred while holding a CDL). Please note that this program is not available in CA, CT, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, PA, or WA, and specific account terms for owner-operators may vary. We offer two contract options tailored to your financial goals. Choose our 65% Revenue Sharing plan to maximize your earnings, with a weekly take-home average of $1,600 – $2,400. Alternatively, our Mileage-based plan offers the predictability of steady budgeting, averaging $1,200 – $2,000 weekly.
